When there is a heavy rain, the incidents such as "going to the city to see the sea" and manhole covers eating people” have occurred frequently. How to ensure the safety of the people?
In response to the safety of manhole covers, China Mobile Yuanyang Branch cooperated with the Yuanyang County Urban Administration to upgrade and transform manhole covers in 300 key locations, installed 20,000pcs smart manhole cover terminal in the county based on the smart urban management platform, combined with 5G and IoT technologies.
By installing IoT smart sensors inside the manhole cover, remote and real-time monitoring of manhole cover inclination, displacement and manhole overflow is realized.
"When the manhole cover rolls over, shifts, opens, sinks, and the water level under the manhole cover is abnormal, the sensors on the manhole cover can issue an early warning to the smart manhole cover system platform through the Internet of Things module. The platform automatically locates the abnormal manhole cover after receiving the warning. After that, a case list will be formed, and the relevant person in charge will follow up according to the case, and arrange for a technician to verify and handle it in time to effectively prevent the occurrence of "road traps".
The application of smart manhole covers has created a situation from passive response to active management, from personnel inspection to intelligent monitoring. Through mobile phones and computers, inspectors can monitor various data in real time. Once problems such as manhole covers are damaged or lost, they can respond quickly and deal with them quickly, minimizing the occurrence of potential safety hazards and greatly improving the efficiency of urban management.
